Alex Matere is a political scientist, public policy practitioner and sustainable development enthusiast whose work bridges grassroots community mobilization with national and global policy conversations.
As a young centre-left politician, he combines exceptional leadership, organizational, and management skills with a deep, evidence-based understanding of governance systems and public administration. He has an impressive academic and professional record that is closely supported by constructive and worthwhile transformative contributions at the local, national, continental and global levels.
Across every stage of his career, Alex has demonstrated a clear and sustained commitment to inclusive leadership, sound public policy, and good governance — always with an eye toward practical, sustainable outcomes for the communities he serves.
Executive Director, Youth Bridge Kenya (YBK). Alex leads YBK, driven by a mission to provide a platform to nurture the youth through informed, innovative and value-driven approaches for personal, community, national and global development. Under his leadership, YBK's work is anchored on four pillars:
